Are you looking for a way to make a portable computer just as powerful as a desktop computer? Do you need to add a few more PCI slots to your desktop computer, but you don't have space for a bulky 7 or 13 slot expansion system? Does your line of work require that your equipment be as quiet as possible? MAGMA's versatile 4 Slot PCI Expansion System is the ideal solution for both portable computer and full-size desktop computer users.

Desktop Computer Users: The 4 Slot PCI-to-PCI Expansion System is the most compact way to add PCI slots and additional storage to your desktop Mac or PC computer. When used as a desktop unit, the chassis will support the weight of a monitor. When used as a rack-mount unit, the chassis is only 2U high.

Portable Computer Users: Although the 4 Slot CardBus-to-PCI Expansion System is not as small as MAGMA's 2 Slot expansion system, the 4 slot has much to offer the portable user. Adding 4 PCI slots and drive bays for four internal IDE/ATA or SCSI disk drives, this chassis provides all you need to take your high-end, full-blown desktop computer system and make it portable.

Supported Operating Systems

 Note: Windows XP is currently in test for PCI-to-PCI Expansion. MAGMA does not expect compatibility problems.

Note: There is a MAGMA CardBus driver required for Windows XP users. The driver is currently in development.

Note: Mac OS X currently does not support PCI-to-PCI Bridging through CardBus. MAGMA is working with Apple to resolve this problem. Until then, you must use Mac OS 9.x with a MAGMA CardBus-to-PCI Expansion System and Apple PowerBooks.
