Using the P111 in an Apple Macintosh

Elan do not provide drivers for Apple Mac machines, however there is some patchy native support for the P111 (single rear slot model) which appears to be the only model supported by MAC O/S.

We have tested a P111 successfully in a PowerMac G4 466MHz with AGP running MAC O/S 9.1  (Machine ID: 406, ROM Revision: $77D.45F6); No additional driver software was required.

It has been reported that the following systems have also successfully been used with a P111 :

  • PowerMac G4/400 OS9.2
  • PowerMac G4/466 OS9.1
  • PowerMac G4/733 OS9.2
  • PowerMac G4/1GHz 2002 OS9.2

But that problems were experienced in the following systems :

  • PowerMac G3 MT/400 (B&W)
  • PowerMac G4/400 (PCI)
  • PowerMac G4/400 (AGP) OS8.6
  • PowerMac G4/450 (AGP)
  • PowerMac G4/500 (Dual)

Elan are continuing to investigate P111 support on the Apple Mac platform.
